WVU football - I am impressed

Johannes | September 7th, 2008

Football is more or less unknown in Austria. The only match broadcasted is the Super Bowl and this is barely watched. Our national sport is soccer. Yesterday we defeated France 3:1, which is quite a sensation. But what I want to point out is the following: Austria vs. France was carried out in the largest stadium in Vienna. It was sold out and contained 48.000 spectators. This is the biggest in Austria.

And now that:

that:

and that:

Man, I am impressed. My girlfriend Doris, Eric and I were lucky enough to receive tickets and so I had the opportunity to enjoy my first football game in my life. In a stadium that is bigger as any in Austria – just for college-football. Imagine how amazing this for me sounds. Unbelievable. Of course we dressed ourselves
appropriate. And it took me the first two quarters to decode the matter with the keyrings and the “uh-uh-uh-first down”.

This is Eric, my girlfriend and me in the frying pan (according to the temperature last sunday)

So I am really looking forward to the next match. The Mounaineers definitely have to catch up after the loss against ECU.
