Blackwater Falls

Johannes | September 22nd, 2008

Last weekend we were glad to host my girlfriend Doris’ parents. They travelled all the way from Austria in the heart of Europe to Morgantown, WV. They stayed for the weekend so we tried to show them the WVU on Friday night. Like every visitor from back home they were surprised how big everything here is. Huge cars, broad streets and sometimes even some people seem to be a bit too big. But I think, they really liked Morgantown. Here a photo from the Life Science Building we took as we walked through the downtown campus.

On Saturday, we used their rental car to go to Blackwater Falls in Davis, WV. To reach this scenic spot we drove through really beatiful forests and hills. Too bad, that the Indian Summer didn’t start yet. I am really looking forward for that. Blackwater Falls emerged as a bit less dramatic as I hoped, but it is a relly beatiful spot in the wild and wonderful landscape of west virginia.

Doris parents – Ingrid and Harry – already left for New York City. But we were really delighted to see them and I hope that they enjoyed their stay as well. Just some twenty minutes ago I called my parents and it seems as my father decided to visit us, too. In fact transatlantic flights are right now pretty cheap. You can fly from Washington to Vienna for under 1.000 Dollar. Just in case somebody didn’t decide yet what to do in the Thanksgiving break ;)

Here a beautiful picture from Doris and her parents:
