Thoughts [Procrastinating] on Packing!

Cassandra | June 20th, 2008

Packing is definitely not one of my strong points, nor favorite things. I find it completely stressful and often leave it to the last minute.

I’m leaving for my trip to Italy for a month in a week but (unfortunately for my packing situation) I am spending a week at my grandparents in Pennsylvania beforehand since my father is flying in and out of the Pittsburgh airport next week for a business trip to Texas. So, today (and yesterday) were supposed to be filled with packing, but ended up being spent with my friends and at my job at American Eagle. I’m leaving Sunday, and basically nothing has been accomplished other than making half a packing list and putting a few things in a couple suitcases.

Buying luggage is always a big deal for me and my dad and I did that earlier this week. I got a nice new green Swiss Gear and I’m taking my standard-sized black case for my carry-on as well as a tote bag with my lap top! Last summer when I went to Europe our luggage was lost and I received my bag a few days before I began college, so this time I’m not taking chances on being without clothes! (It spent about a month and a half flying between Paris Charles de Gaulle and London Heathrow!) The experience, however, did teach me how to deal with only having a few outfits and wearing things over and over like a true European! I feel much more pressure to dress up this time since I am going to Italy to study fashion!

My room is a disaster area (although that isn’t unusual), so I took a few quick pictures on my phone. I’m a notorious over-packer (four bags for Girls’ State was really just uncalled for), so my aims for this trip are to pack things I can mix and match and have some room for all my great Italian fashion finds! I have pulled most of my favorite clothes out of my closet and I’m going to sort through them… probably tomorrow, since I think packing for tonight is a lost cause!

(Empty suitcase. Clothes everywhere! Blogging instead of packing… not a productive evening!)
