I miss Hungary.

Greetings from Cambridge, England! Right now I’m visiting my sister and babysitting my 7-year-old cousin Elizabeth while her parents celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary touring England.

Sadly, Cambridge is not the place to be this time of year. The weather has been quite cold and consistently rainy. Plus, it’s exam period so people are stressed and anxious to harp at anyone who slightly bothers them to relieve their personal academic issues. BE QUIET- EXAMS ARE IN SESSION signs are posted throughout campus and it seems that everywhere I go I’m told to keep quiet.

Yesterday my cousin and I were playing outside and a women approached us, “Can you please keep the noise down because I think people in this building might be taking exams.”
Umm…ok. You want us to tone down our singing voices OUTSIDE because you THINK exams MIGHT be in session. As you wish, your Majesty.

Then we go to the kitchen where a sign is posted “PLEASE DO NOT LET THIS DOOR SLAM AT NIGHT Thanks!”
This obviously tempted me to wake up at 3am and slam it shut multiple times just to see what would happen.

Then my sister has to constantly remind us to whisper when we’re in her dorm because her roommate is working on her Ph.D. dissertation and prefers to work in her room.
Have you ever tried to whisper 2-4 hours worth of play time with a 7-year-old? If you successfully did this please tell me how.

UGH! I do NOT want to be quiet and I do NOT want to be stuck in the rainy weather and I do NOT want to pay for groceries in this currency.

I MISS YOU HUNGARY!
