Yesterday my friends and I went dancing at Sozo, a local club that is known to be the medical students hang-out. While jamming to music a German medical student and I started talking. Fun right, NOT!

When I told him where I’m from he wouldn’t shut up about how much he hates the American culture. He kept on ranting about how Americans are so lazy and how everyone is fat and dumb and blah blah blah. He acted like I had never heard these insults before. But the guy honestly couldn’t let it go. He felt this need to inform me for a half an hour about his views on the people and politics of my home country.

In my mind I punched him right in the face and then politely told him, “Well sir, at least we were taught manners. Have a nice day.”

Yep…I do miss America. I’m starting to get really defensive about my culture.
