Train Trek

Rebecca | March 7th, 2008

Getting to Vienna was quite a trek. My alarm went off at 4:30am in order to catch the 5:30 train from Szeged-Budapest EAST station. From the EAST station I had to catch the metro to Budapest WEST station. Finally, I hopped on a train from Budapest-Bratislava, then Bratislava-Vienna. I met Christian (a previous WVU study abroad student) at the train station around 4:30pm. Whew!

A highlight of my train ride extravaganza was meeting a group of ladies from Florida. We had GIRL TALK over fresh Budapest desserts from a local bakery. (Really, does it get any better than this?!) These women were such an inspiration to me. One was 86 years old and still traveling the world! Ha! I loved hearing her stories, “Oh I enjoyed Egypt very much when I went there two years ago.” And “I couldn’t believe how many people lived in China when we traveled there last Christmas.”
