Oh da-da-dear

Rebecca | March 20th, 2008 at 7:14 am

Yesterday was just another typical day-in-the-life as a study abroad student but for some unknown reason these petty, mundane, things that I encounter on a daily basis found a way to infuriate me.

For example, I was walking to the library, jamming out to the Hungarian radio station through on my phone, and ALL of the programmed stations started to play commercials at the start of the hour. Usually I don?t even notice it but for some reason I became furious about it.

Why do the radio stations do that?! Wouldn?t a station manager think, gosh, while everyone else is playing commercials, how about we PLAY MUSIC?!

When I arrived to the library I had to put my coat and book bag in the locker before I entered for security reasons- not a big deal, I?ve done it hundreds of times. But when the card reader took ages to scan my barcode I went off on a cursing rampage in my mind.

Why the (bleep) do they make us put our stuff in these (bleeping) lockers anyway? This is ridiculous. Why would they spend thousands of dollars on these (bleeping) lockers AND a (bleeping) security system that is alerted when you pass through it with a book. It doesn?t (bleeping) matter if the stolen book is in your book bag or in your hands. What the (bleep)?

After the library, I headed home and all I wanted to do was stay in the apartment for the rest of the day, make a cup of tea, and finish my book.

Then all of a sudden it hit me. I think I?m homesick.
Oh da-da-dear.
