Allow me to reintroduce myself...

Eric | February 6th, 2008

Uh huh, we got a novice blogger over here (me) :). I completely forgot to formally introduce myself to the cyber world!

Let me start by saying I am a senior Forest Resource Management major at WVU and I hope to finish with a minor in Business Administration. I chose to attend WVU because I have a real passion for the mountains. It is refreshing to spend time away from my home city of Herndon, VA, capital of suburbia, in northern Virginia (no, I don’t call it NOVA, lame name). Despite being richest county in the nation, Fairfax is CROWDED. Those of you who complain about traffic in Morgantown should take a ride around the capital beltway during rush hour, those who have done it can feel for me.

My hometown aside, I guess I just fell for West Virginia. It truly is a wonderful state for outdoor activities, there are not many places in the east where one can ski, paddle, bike, run and climb all in the same area. The activities and the wonderful people make West Virginia a special place to live and learn.

As a self-proclaimed outdoor enthusiast, I have a confession to make, hope you’re ready (by ready I mean sitting or lying down to read this next part). I am not going to Austria just for the studies, but to get lost in virgin groves (areas of BIG old trees), run out of breath from the high altitude in the Alps, intentionally dump myself into some pow pow (fluffy snow), sip water from the source of icy mountain streams and then climb the tall, glacially-scarred, granite walls of the Alps until my forearms turn to jelly. AND, I plan to do all of that while eating Austrian chocolate!(I like to dream big).

I am completely sold on Austria (and I’m not even there yet!), are you?

Austria is bliss…
