HELLO HUNGARY!
The wait is over, I’m finally in Hungary!
My good friends Nora and Lehel picked me up from the airport with a huge LET’S GOOO MOUNTAINEERS sign. It was so adorable! I am kicking myself for not getting a picture. After the 2 hour car ride to Szeged, I headed to Nora’s apartment.
The following day we went to celebrate Name Day and recent birthdays in the family.

The food was so good! Home cooked duck, deer, steak, chicken noodle soup, salad, breads, pears dipped in honey and topped with blueberries…the list goes on and on. With such great food, I am bound to gain at least 10 pounds here, especially with all the wonderful breads they offer. But bring it on, it’s worth every bite!
I can’t thank Nora enough for taking me under her wing. It was such a blessing to immediatly be able to be part of a Hungarian family celebration. Her relatives was so kind to me. Nora’s grandmother even bought me a gift because she didn’t want anyone to feel left out. Later in the week her grandmother asked me how many grandmas I have and I told her 4 (including her in the count).
