Bird vs. Statue

Rebecca | February 5th, 2008 at 8:34 am

Not everyday goes perfectly as a study abroad student. Take my Wednesday for instance. After another day of drawn out orientation and always arising language barriers I decided to conquer the streets of Szeged. NO MORE MAPS! After touring the town for nearly two hours I still messed up trying to get from the Rectors’s office to the library, which is a simple task. Frustrated, I sit down on a bench, open up the map, feel sorry for myself, and try to figure out exactly where I was. Then?

A BIRD DUMPS ON MY SHOULDER.

I am not joking. A huge, multicolored piece of bird crap landed on my beloved WVU sweater. Yuck!

It was the “cherry on top” of a horrible day. Someone please call the whaaa-bulance!

Once my highschool geography teacher told us that, “Some days you’re the statue. Some days you’re the bird.”

Clearly Wednesday was my day to be the statue.
