West Virginian's Unite

You know it is a small world when I travel 4,000 miles from home and run in to a friend. I was blessed to meet my friend, Emily Evert, in Vienna for a day. Emily was doing a 4H exchange in Germany and Austria for 6 months. She stayed with host families and worked on their farms. It was awesome to hear about the farms and some of the crazy experiences she had. After several messages and months we were finally able to meet- one day before she was returning to the states. So I was able to show her my new city- well Emily was better with the map so I ended up following her. We visited some of the great sites in Wien including: The beautiful Schönbrunn, Hundertwasser Haus, and The Butterfly House. We ended the events of the day going to ice skating. Now from previous blogs you will know that I have been improving on the skating endeavor. Emily was pretty much a professional (compared to me) so she helped me skate. I did much better this time and only fell twice; much better than my previous excursion. We had a delicious dinner together for Emily’s final Wiener Schnitzel. When I went to see Emily off on her train, we realized that we were late and would need to run. Of course when you are late the platform is always the very last on the other end of the station. So we ran out like Schnitzels off and made it just on time. That is one thing that I get the most enjoyment and pain out of -Running for Public Transportation. It is great when you can catch it and the run is worth is, but when you miss it, that is the most depressing feeling. It shocks me sometimes when I realize that I will have to drive a car again in the states. I love public transport- minus the creepy, awkward, and disgusting things that happen.

Soli Deo Gloria,
