Field Camp in Burgenland
|
October 28th, 2008
Along the lines of random classes, I signed up for a week long course in Mountain Forestry. Being from the Mountain State in WV I figured it would be good to learn about the mountains in Austria. I spent the 2nd week of October in Burgenland, Austria at BOKU’s Forestry Demonstration Center. We spent the ˝ the week in lectures and the other ˝ in excursions. We traveled and hiked up Rax Mountain, toured the Donau National Park, and the Forest Demonstration Center. Austria’s topography is very similar to West Virginia because of the mountains and trees. I didn’t have to miss the Fall season in WV!
Soli Deo Gloria,
Kellen

Hey Kellen! Cool course! How did the mountain forestry students treat you? They are usually a cool bunch. Rosalia forest center is a pretty neat place too, glad you got to see Rax as well!
