Oxford!
Today we drove to Oxford to get a tour. I can’t even begin to explain how much history is at Oxford.
I saw most of the 38 colleges that make up Oxford including the ones that President Hardesty, Bill Clinton, Lewis Carroll, C.S. Lewis and Tolkein attended. It was very cool. The main college I saw was Christ Church which was double exciting because that is where the first 4 Harry Potter movies have been filmed. There is the quad with the halls right off of it, the staircase, the dining hall.
Also there are so many things that influenced Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland….the fireplace in the dining hall
(when Alice drinks a potion and her neck elongates and her head gets big), the door the president would pop in and out of for meals (the rabbit hole) and the flowers with the cottages (just the setting for it)
. Then I went to the pub where C.S. and Tolkein would mull over literary works and discuss ideas they had. It is called the Eagle & Child.
It was very cool!

Enjoy being over there! It’s going to go sooooo fast! I blogged from Italia last semester and I can’t even believe that I’ve been home for 2 months already. I want to go back to Europe!!!!!!!!! Take advantage of everything over there- it’s a great opportunity and experience. London was awesome (only thing I didn’t like about it was the cost of everything!! haha).
Meet as many people as you can over there- Europeans and the British are so different and interesting. That was one thing that I loved- meeting all the different people there. You’ll learn so much… and you won’t even realize how much you learned until you come home.
Be on the look out for the Spice Girls, hang out with Prince William (hear he’s single haha), and mind the gap!!
