I felt so guilty just LAYING on the beach for 4 days. We had been to Spain before when we went to Barcelona, but this place was more the way i pictured Spaniards to live. Bright colors, loud music, beautiful scenery. It was greeeeeeeattt!! Von celebrated her 21st birthday here and what a way to celebrate!

About 30 of the students from here at CIMBA went and we all stayed in an all inclusive resort. Now going from grungy hostels to staying in an all inclusive resort- we all thought we had died and gone to heaven!!! Because of the volcanoes on the islands the beaches are black sand (which I had never seen before) and the rocks and mountains made the ocean just SO beautiful! It was fun to swim in the Atlantic ocean from the other side!

The Canary Islands are so close to Africa that the resort manager just kept saying… “you’re pretty much in Africa.” Actually- next weekend I am going to Africa!!! We’re going to Tunisia. I’m so excited!! My coach Deby says that her nephew studied there and said the music and culture and everything is so much fun and awesome that he didn’t want to leave!! I can’t wait! I want to ride a camel… They had them in the Canaries, but we didn’t get to ride them!

Over all our second travel week – Rome, Pompeii, and Canaries- was ammmmmmmmmmmmazing!!!!!!!! So much fun! So much culture! I LOVED it!!!!!!!!!!!!
