Firenze = Heaven :-)

FLORENCE, ITALY IS AMAZING.

Every place I go I keep thinking… WOW I do not want to leave here!!

We arrived in Firenze, aka Florence to all of us, Friday night. Von and I went with two of our friends from Kansas University, Sarah and Jackie. They have a few friends studying in Firenze and they let us stay with them! I’m sooo jealous of where they are staying! They were all put up in REALLY cute Italian apartments all over the city. I loved staying there! I felt like we were actually living there!

Saturday morning we woke up and we climbed the 463 steps to the top of the Duomo. It’s a big church in the city and when it was built it was the biggest of its kind. What an adventure it was walking all the way to the top- but it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO worth it. The view from the top was AMAZING!! Even though it wasn’t the clearest of days, you could see everything!

Looking out from the Duomo … The breathtaking ceiling that we got so close to because we walked up so many stairs!

We went to a few musuems to see all the art they had on display, but the best one was at the Arcadia Museum where Michael Angelo’s David was on display. We couldn’t take a picture of the real thing, but I have a picture with the fake one in this Piazza they have in the middle of the city. All around the piazza they have mock ups of the famous stautes that they have displayed in the musuems. (Me and David at the begining of the blog was taken there).

My favorite part of the city was all the markets! They were selling so much jewlery (one of my top five favorite things) EVERYWHERE!!!! And on the Pointe Vecchio bridge (shown behind us below) has shops all along it and the spots are all reserved for… JEWLERY STORES!!! It was awesome and I got a really cool glass ring.

All and all, Firenze comes in at my second favorite place that we’ve visited so far. It is EXTREMELY close to Paris… it’s a really tight race.
I want to go back to Firenze so bad. It was a three hour train ride from Venice- so it’s pretty cloes! I was so sad to leave… I wish I was studying there!! It was so much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I better get back to studying. I have a test in Operations Management tomorrow. Tough class- so I better go study.

Ciao!!!!! <3 Julie!
