Indian Food... In Italia?!

Julie | February 22nd, 2007 at 6:47 pm

So tonight we had our first Advisory night. CIMBA has split all of us into groups of about 12 and paired us up with one of the Professors here. A few times this semester we will be going out with them to get to know them better. Tonight our group went to an Indian resturant in Bassano del Grappa- about 20 minutes away.

Weeeeellllllllllll. I have never eaten Indian food before so I knew this was going to be quite an experience. So we get there and I look at the menu. Ha- Now. I found this hilarious. The menu items were in Indian and the description was in italian. So I pretty much had NO idea what was going on on the menu. Our advisor loves Indian food and said this one dish was his favorite… so I just went with that! It ended up being pretty good. I’m not gonna lie- it will probably be a long time before I go and eat Indian food again- but it was a fun night getting to know everybody better! There are only 150 students here, but I feel everytime we do an event like this I get to know someone new… so that is good!!

Today it really hit me that I’m here to go to school- up until now it’s felt like we’re all just at a big kids summer camp! haha. I had my first real test today in my Info Systems class. They don’t believe in multi-choice over here so it was all essay… and I mean 6 pages of essay questions. These classes are not easy. Ugh. I was kind of hoping for an easy semester… butttt yeahhh.. Oh well- School is why I’m here! So I’ll get it done!!

Allllright we’ll I’m going to bed! It’s always weird when I talk to people at home and I’m like well I’m going to bed and they’re just getting ready to eat dinner!!

An American eating Indian food in Italy? Talk about international! :) I'm glad to hear that things are going well and that you're taking full advantage of everything. Sounds like a great time! Just make to sure to study, especially for Info Systems! ;) Graham
