Morgantown 4 degrees and snow. Spain 75 and sunny!

Hola from Spain!!

All these different languages are getting to me- Im speaking in Italian, French, Spanish, and English. Ha! Its so confusing to go from one culture and then go to a completely different one. I can say that every country that I have been in I have successfully conveyed what I needed to be and have found my way around quite easily.

So on Thursday we left Paris (boo! I wanted to stay!!) and headed for Barcelona, Spain with the 6 other girls from our school that we met up with. We stayed at the HelloBCN Hostel (which I would HIGHLY recommend for students to say in if you travel to Barcelona. It was great) and had an awesome time! Barcelona is so full of art and beautiful buildings we just walked around and admired everything all day! It was 75 degrees (it was 4 degrees in Morgantown and snowing!) and we were by the beach. Me gusta!!!

In our hostel we met two Irish girls, Afric and Caroline, and we hung out with them. They had been to Barcelona before so they showed us all the fun things to do. We actually might even go visit them for St. Pattys day in Dublin this year!! Yaaay! We met so many cool people this trip. Buju and guards in London- Faisal and Ahkmed in Paris- and Afric and Caroline in Barcelona! One of the great things about staying in hostels is that pretty much everyone is a college student traveling on a budget- so everyone gets along!!

Sagrada Familia

So in Barcelona I tried Paella, a typical Spanish dish (which was AWESOME!!!), fell in love with Sangria, and saw some amazing architecture designed by Gaudi. The Temple de la Sagrada Familia is a mind-blowing church that is so detailed its hard to fathom that someone made it. We also went to a park designed by him too, which was set ontop of a hill, giving us a breathtaking view of the city.

Of course we planned on going and spending Saturday at the beach- only to wake up and find that it was going to rain all day. Its alright though- we walked around taking in all the beauty Barcelona has to offer and still had a great day.

This has been one amazing trip and I cant wait to see where we go next!! Its sad that it is coming to an end, but Im excited to go back to school to find out how everybody elses trips went!

Hasta La Vasta Baby!

WOW! Now I know where my next major trip will be. You're descriptions of Spain are enticing and photos are beautiful. What an opportunity to experience. The thought of being in warm climates during the miserable winter weather we've been having here makes me jealous! How have you found the attitudes from the Spanish and Italians versus the French towards tourists? Are the French as snobby as I've heard? Arrivederci!

No- The French were nice to us!! And there were many differences in Spain than in Italia. In Spain guys like yell at you when you're walking down the street... haha It's kind of funny. Also they don't take their "nap times" from like 1-3 like the Italians do. The food was definitely different... And Italians are very relaxed and take their time with everything- The Spanish are go go go. I LOVVVVVVVE seeing the differences between the cultures!
