London... A Smashing, Brilliant Time!
Alright.. So I did not get a chance to see the Spice Girls while me and Iwona were in London- but I think I will manage. London. Wow. How do I even describe it? It was awesome!!! Let me start from the beginning.
So Friday we left school and made our way to the airport. After taking a bus, a train, and another bus we finally made it to Marco Polo Venice Airport and checked in for our flight. The flight was delayed an hour so we didnt end up arriving in London until 11:30 pm. After figuring out how to get into the city (which was by Train- and we figured this out with help from a friendly British man named Buju the first of many interesting people we met on our trip) we find out that the Metro is closed. Of course the only directions we had to our hostel was by metro, so we had to find another route. We ended up taking a bus and wondered around trying to find the metro station that we had directions from. To make a long story short We got so lost. We walked around for like an hour and half, in the rain, at 1-2 am. Iwona and I finally found someone who would help us get to our destination and ended up calling a taxi that took us there. So here we are. WET. TIRED. And its about 2:30 in the morning. We check into our hostel and we are more than ready to pass out in our beds. Of course with the night we already had had we would find out there would be one more obstacle that we would have to go through before we could go to bed. So we walk to our room- Room 103, beds 1 and 2- and find that there are clothes all over our beds as if someone had already claimed those beds. So we go back to the main desk and they decide that they are going to kick the people who were sleeping in those beds out. So the house keeping man comes and changes the sheets and moves all the stuff and dun dun dun the two german girls whos beds they were come home. So they start getting upset and after they finally straightened everything out it was about 3:30. We were sooooooo tired.
Von and I In front of the National Gallery in Trafalger Square
After that night I was ready to have some fun in London! We took a double decker bus tour of the city and hit all the major sites. We saw Big Ben, The London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Changing of the Guard, National Gallery, Trafalgar Square everything you think of when you think of London- we saw it! I loved London but the only complaint that I do have it the price. ITS SO EXPENSIVE!!! One British pound equals two American Dollars. So if you saw something priced at 5 pounds it was actually $10. Man and we thought the Euro had a bad exchange rate! We were in London Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday. This morning we took a plane to Paris and I have never been more excited to see a city than I am about this one. Were going to take a nap right now, but I cant wait to get out and see the sites!!!
We made friends with some of the guards in London!
They told us next time we come they’ll tour us around!
