J'ADORE PARIS!
BONJOUR!! J’ADORE PARIS!!
Its everything I thought it would be.. AND MORE!!
I never ever ever want to leave this city! I took French all throughout middle, high school, and last year at WVU so Ive always wanted to go. In high school I had the chance to go with a French club, but because of the price of the trip I was unable to go. I remember being so upset with my parents- but its fine now. I MADE IT TO PARIS AND ITS AMAZING!!
Going up to the top of the Eiffel Tower and looking down on all of Paris was breath taking. In London we took a bus tour, but we decided to explore Paris on our own. Iwona and I bought a 2 day metro pass and would just ride it to random places and walk around. It was a great way to see the city, because we would see all the local places and all of a sudden run into a famous landmark. The Eiffel Tower, LArc de Triomphe, Notre-Dame, the Louvre it was all amazing.
I found my favorite place in the whole wide world (and literally it is): the La Basilique du Sacre-Coeur. After you climb up a million and one steps you look at a gorgeous church, and look at on an even more gorgeous view of the city. There was a man up there playing the harp, the sun was shining, and we sat on those steps for a good hour and half just reflecting on everything. It was the most peaceful hour and half I think Ive ever had. Honestly, if you get a chance to visit Paris you must go here. I wish I could hang out there every single day.
Yesterday was Valentines Day (and I missed my Valentine more than anything!!) and we met up with 6 other girls from our school. We all went out for an awesome dinner and a night on the town. It made us get our minds off the fact that our loves were thousands of miles away.. Love you Joey!! It was such a fun night!
Our hotel in Paris was so cute!! The maids brought us breakfast in bed every morning- croissants, amazing French bread, jelly, butter, tea and coffee. They would just knock on your door, open it up, slide it on your bed- and they would return in a half an hour to collect the tray back. It was called the Avenir Hotel and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone traveling on a budget to Paris. It was so cheap and it was so cute! We had our own terrance that looked out onto a cute little Parisian street, and great accommodations.
Were leaving in a hour to go to Barcelona. This trip has been amazing! I cant believe Im traveling to all these places. It really makes me miss my family. My family and I go on awesome vacations every year and it doesnt seem fair that Im getting to see all this without them!! I wish you guys could be here! Mom you would love all the beautiful churches, Dad you wouldnt be able to deal with the Atkins diet here- its bread everywhere!, Natalie you would love all the beautiful scenery and the Eiffel tower, and Gary you would love all the cool cars (European cars are awesome). And since Paris is the city of love I wish MY LOVE was with me!! I never want to leave this city. I cant wait to return and stay longer here. Hands down- this is my most favorite place I have ever visited. JADORE PARIS!!!
Au Revoir!

yes, we have been on some great vacations together. remember this is your time. we're sooooooo happy that you are enjoying your european adventure with iwona. it's so exciting for us to watch you live out one of your dreams jul. one day you can give us the tour of your favorite cities :). when we miss you, we just sit and view your pictures/videos and it makes us smile from ear to ear. love you and miss you (only 60 more days, not like we'er counting or anything, haha)
I’ll be studying french this fall at WVU, and I hope that I can do what you’re doing soon. I was wondering how hard it was to get the hang of speaking the language everyday, and how did the locals treat you and your friends??
Make sure to check out the Jacquemart-Andre Museum in Paris.
