Birthday Bash
Eammon (a study abroad student from Beloit College in Wisconsin) had his 21st birthday bash at Gold Coast Beach, a 15 minute drive from campus. We had a blast! You can’t go wrong with 30+ people, beach front, and char coaled corn-on-the-cob. Good times!
Another joy of studying abroad is getting to meet people from all over the world with different backgrounds. At the party I was able to interview/get to know Rod (Pronounced “Rood”) a year long study abroad student from Scotland. He’s passionate about politics and his family. His dad is a hard working, middle class, gotta-work-your-way-up, journalist, who got his big break after interviewing one of the last people to see Hitler before his death. Pretty crazy?! Although he’s “retired” his dad still works for many news organizations.
I love hearing about peoples inspirations. I hope someday I’ll get to meet Rod’s dad.
