Ciao!!! Come sei? Sono molto bene!!
Ciao!!! Come sei? Sono molto bene!! The last couple of days have been real fun. Friday and Saturday I went through this Problem Solving and Decision Making seminar led by Kepner Tregoe (a consulting company). It was kind of boring at times, but over all it was a great experience. And a great line on my resume!! I start my Rapport Leadership training tomorrow night so I’m sure I’ll be wayyyyyyy busy the rest of the week. Rapport Leadership is a leadership program, based out of Las Vegas, Nevada, that puts you through many different levels of being out of your comfort zone. I’m not 100% sure what it all is about because I haven’t done it yet, but some groups have done it already and say it’s a life changing experience…that they feel sooo much more confident after participating in the program. I’m really excited. Iwona already went through and she won’t tell me what it’s about because she said I really need to experience it for myself.
Last week we did a ropes course and it was so much fun! This guy from Slovenia led it and we had so much fun! We have class today and tomorrow again and then the rest of the week we’re doing this leadership stuff again. This is the last week that our schedule will be all weird like this. Starting next Monday we?ll start our regular schedule for classes and everything. Next Wednesday we have our first formal dinner. The whole school goes out to a nice Italian multi-course dinner. I’m really excited I think it’s going to be so much fun!!! Then, next Friday starts our first travel week. Iwona and I are going to fly to London, England- spend a few days there, then from London we are going to fly to Paris, France and meet up with 8 other girls. We’ll stay in Paris for a few days then all of us will fly to Barcelona, Spain and spend a few days there until we have to come back. We have a total of 9 days off, so we’ll be able to see a lot in those cities. I’m realllllllly excited. I’ve never been over here to Europe so I want to take in as much as I can. The other day we went to a small city nearby called Bassano del Grappa.
It was such a cute little European city that had everything you?d expect it to have. A huge town square with a big clock tower, a huge building with all kinds of pillars on it (we still have yet to determine what exactly the building is) and tons of little TINY streets that when the scooters drive down you feel like you are going to be run over. It was awesome. The director of our program said that although it wouldn’t be comforting to our parents he hopes that sometime we get completely lost, get on the wrong train, and have no idea what to do. When we were in Bassano we had absolutely no idea where we were going. We tried our best to talk to the locals and get directions. We ended up meeting two Italians who helped us out tremendously. It was really exciting too because we didn’t know what to do or where to go. Once we found out where to go we ended our night by getting some crepes. They were really good. I can’t wait to eat another one!! Haha.
Yesterday we walked about 3 km to a little town called Crespano. We had our first experience walking into a little café and having no idea what to do or order…or how to do so! Ha. I really wish I could have seen the look on your faces when we walked in and acted dumbfounded to the place. We ended up getting sandwiches (god only knows what they actually were) and were soooooo delicious. We also went to a little panetteria, bakery, and got awesome desserts and a cappuccino. Yuuummmmm. SOOOOO GOOD!!
Today so far I’ve eaten breakfast, had my marketing class (which, by the way, classes are an hour and 35 minutes long- uggggggh.), worked out at the gym while the maids cleaned our room, and ate lunch…And it’s only 7am in the states! Haha. FYI- we have maids that come in twice a week that clean everything for us, give us new towels, and change the sheets on our beds. I feel like I’m at a hotel!! It’s great! And when I say they clean everything…I mean everything. If you have a mess all over your desk they will organize it for you! Haha.
Well I better get started on the rest of my homework!!
Arrivederci!!!
<3 Julie!
