Bio: Joey Bailey
Greetings fellow earthlings, My name is Joey Bailey and I am a senior history major here at WVU. Thanks to the WVU Office of International Programs and the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship, I am currently an exchange student at Lingnan University in Hong Kong.
While in Hong Kong, I hope to share my experiences and observations of life beyond the great Bamboo Curtain. I am from Beckley, West Virginia. It’s a wonderful place, but there are things happening over here that you’ve just got to see to believe.
With this blog, I hope to break down stereotypes, convince you never to wear flip-flops, and encourage as many WVU students as possible to take a chance on international travel. Thomas Paine once wrote, “my country is the world, and my religion is to do good.” I think international travel through WVU provides us with a great opportunity to explore that country and find out exactly what type of good we can do in it.
