West Virginia University

Bio: Cassandra Pisone

My name is Cassandra Pisone and I am a second-year (but senior in hours after this summer!) at West Virginia University. I am also a member of the Honors College and I’m so excited to be an Honors Co-Mentor this fall and co-teaching a section of Honors 199!

I am originally from Indiana, PA, but grew up in Beckley, WV, where I graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 2007. I am working on dual degrees in Fashion Design and Merchandising and Economics with a minor in French.

When not in Morgantown, I spend time with my friends at home in Beckley and dedicate most of my waking hours to my job at American Eagle. I also love to stay active, mostly running (thanks to my high school cross-country days), swimming, tennis, yoga, and biking! I also occasionally work at the only professional theatre in West Virginia, Theatre West Virginia at their outdoor dramas Honey in the Rock (about how West Virginia became a state) and Hatfields and McCoys (about the infamous feud). I acted in the shows for several summers before I began high school there as well.

Other than fashion, traveling is my other passion! I spent the summer before my first year at WVU in Europe. I spent time in England, France, Spain, Italy, and Switzerland. It is one of my career goals to work and live in Paris and/or London after graduating before graduate school.

This summer I am studying abroad in Italy for a month with the Disegno Italia program and I couldn’t be more excited! I want to work for a fashion magazine after college so I hope the Fashion Journalism class I am taking will help me achieve this goal. Check out all of my posts here.

I am planning on studying abroad with WVU’s Exchange Program at Lingnan University in Hong Kong in the spring as well.
